Finish Location: On Ocean Boulevard near the large B Street sign. (About 1/8th mile south of Ashworth by the Sea)

FAQ:

Notice: To cooperate better with our host community Hampton, we ask for your support and cooperation.

On two sections of the course, the race may request that a very small number of runners slow their pace for a 1/4 mile so that a small amount of cars stuck on a road can proceed through an intersection safely. This will only affect a very few runners – approximately 15-20 runners (out of 1200)..

What distance is this race?
The Half at the Hamptons is a half Marathon, 13.1 miles long* with a good section of the race running along the Atlantic Ocean along a picture perfect sandy beach as welll as passing through rural parts of Hampton. The course will be certified, accurate and well marked. This course is USATF Certified and accurate according to USATF standards. (If you use your GPS to measure the course, it will differ slightly due to errors in measurement by YOUR GPS, and your measurement methods. What is the course time limit?
We will keep the course open in accordance with a 3:30 hours finish time, or approximately 16 minutes per mile. Note, We will keep the signs on the course up for the very last person and water stops may be self serve in the later stops. A timer, clock and medals will be available for everyone that finishes.

What is the course like?

Our course starts near the classy Hampton Beach hotel Ashworth by the Sea. The start is directly across from Hampton Beach but, before you start – plunge into the cool ocean water at Hampton Beach.

SHIRTS: all registered participants who pick up their bib number will receive a commemorative long sleeve race shirt. Shirts will not be mailed out.

Can I reserve a shirt in a certain size?

When you check the box next to a t-shirt size on your registration form, you’re not reserving a shirt, you’re helping us work out how many shirts we need to order in each size. If it’s really important that you get a shirt in your size, please come early to avoid disappointment. You can read a more detailed explanation of our shirt policy here.

WHERE ARE THE AID STOPS?
There will be four water stops, also Energy drinks and Gel will be available at one. Locations to be posted. The locations are approximately 3 miles: Water, 5.5 miles Water & Gatorade, 7.5 miles Hammer Gel, 7.8 miles Water, 10.5 miles: water.

BATHROOMS: Before the race and right near the start, the Beach house bathrooms open at 8:30 AM. Bathrooms are open at the North Beach house and by the Sea Shell

COURSE Bathrooms: The route goes right by three convenient places: About mile 2.5 you can stop at the Beach Bathroom. Mile 5 – you can use the Bath house bathroom at North beach – just before you go left onto High Street. Mile 11 – on your way back this same bathhouse is open, now on your left at High Street and the lights.

MEDAL: Commemorative medals will be awarded to all registered official finishers.

 WHERE IS THE START & HOW DO I GET THERE?
The start is directly in front of the Ashworth by the Sea Hotel. Registration and packet pickup is inside the hotel.

WHERE CAN WE FIND PARKING ON RACE MORNING?
The parking lot for Hampton Beach will accommodate many cars – you should be able to park fairly close to the start and finish area.

No Headphones or ear pods

Headphones: Our insurance requires us to prohibit anything that interferes with your ability to hear race marshals or traffic. Do not wear headphones during the race as this is an unsafe practice.

HOW CAN I DRIVE THE COURSE?
All of the race course is accessable by car before the race begins. Follow the race map for best results.

WHERE ARE THE BEST LOCATIONS TO SEE THE RACE?
Probably the best and only spot is near the start and the finish as you can walk to see the runners. A full map is availble on this site.

AWARDS: Age Group and overall

We offer awards to the Top 3 Overall Female and Male finishers as well as Top 3 (Female & Male) in the 10-year age groups. There is no awards ceremony. You must pick up your award at the awards table inside the Ashworth at the race.
